VC BuildForward is a no‑cost, pre‑apprenticeship training program created exclusively for Ventura County residents who are ready to explore careers in the building and construction trades.
Program Overview
This hands‑on program prepares participants for careers in construction using the nationally recognized Multi‑Craft Core Curriculum (MC3). Training focuses on foundational skills, industry awareness, and connections to local apprenticeship and employment opportunities.

Over the course of the training, participants gain practical knowledge through structured, classroom instruction designed for hands‑on learners ready to take the next step in their career.

What You’ll Learn
The Multi-Craft Core Curriculum (MC3) covers:
  1. Construction Industry Orientation
  2. Tools and Materials
  3. Construction Health and Safety
  4. Blueprint Reading
  5. Basic Math for Construction
  6. Heritage of the American Worker
  7. Diversity in the Construction Industry
  8. Green Construction
  9. Financial Literacy
Additional training may include CPR and Cal/OSHA.
